Despite earlier receiving notice that the Smuggler’s Bounty boxes were going to end later this fall, Funko is seemingly pulling the plug on the boxes early. Many subscribers received the following message, posted below for your convenience. While the recently retired Disney Treasures box went to Hot Topic and the new Deadpool box went to Amazon, it remains unclear what retailers are going to be picking up the respective Smuggler’s Bounty and Marvel boxes. At this time, it looks like it will be split between Target and Walmart, much to the ire of many fans, who were hoping for an Amazon subscription, both due to the company’s solid customer service and fast shipping times.
Considering the timing of this new update, it looks like Funko will be set to distribute the next Smuggler’s Bounty box to its respective retail partner just in time for the September box.
