We received a tweet from Leland Chee this week that might give us some insight into what to expect for Star Wars in 2018 and the future.
A little information about Leland Chee from http://starwars.wikia.com
Leland Chee is a Lucasfilm official and the person who maintains the Holocron continuity database. He was a frequent presence on the former StarWars.com forums, where he went by the screennames “Tasty Taste” and “Leland Y Chee.” He was also the main tester for the Episode I video game, and maintains the Indycron continuity database (the equivalent database for the Indiana Jones universe).
After The Walt Disney Company‘s acquisition of Lucasfilm, Chee was assigned a job within the newly formed Lucasfilm Story Group, whose main purpose was to eliminate the Star Wars franchise’s canon hierarchy and create one cohesive canon.
While he doesn’t straight out tell us who we might expect to see from Star Wars Legends, it does give us some hope that some of the fan-favorite characters might be making an appearance in the future. Over the past year, we got to see Thrawn pulled from the Legends universe into Star Wars Rebels and his own novel, with a future novel planned for release in 2018. We have heard news of Tag & Bink making an appearance in the new Han Solo movie that is being released in May of 2018.
Please comment below and tell us who you would like to see make the jump from Legends into Canon.
